About Us
The Phoenix, a student-run publication of The Wabash Conservative Union, seeks to promote intellectual conservatism on the campus of Wabash College through thoughtful debate and civil discourse. Following the best traditions of the conservative movement, The Phoenix will attack ideas, not people, and will do so with both honesty and integrity.
Programs
The Phoenix
The Phoenix is the official publication of the Wabash Conservative Union. Published monthly during the school year, the publication serves as an outlet for the expression of conservative opinions on campus. With a newly redesigned website, students have even more opprtunities to get their message out on campus and the wider world, as well as engage their readers. Among the many insightful pieces published in The Phoenix, we revealed that a MXI guest speaker had been convicted of brutally torturing two women in the 1970s, we exposed the treatment the American flag was receiving on campus (click here for an update), we discussed the need for a revamped work-study program (which led to the hiring of a full-time staff position), and we even published a piece which explained how the college had failed to follow federal law regarding the reporting of campus safety incidents.

WCU Events Program
In addition to our the publication of our monthly magazine, the WCU us also busy putting together an impressive events program. Typically we aim to have between two to three lectures, panels, or debates a semester. These events provide another outlet to express conservative opinions in campus and provide a decided (and much needed) check on the overwhelming number of liberal events hosted on campus and sponsored by the college. As you can see, we have already hosted a number of impressive programs on campus. During our short history, we have hosted Jonah Goldberg, Editor-at-Large for National Review Online, noted race-preferences opponent Ward Connerly, and feminist critic Christina Hoff Sommers.
